Beloved Ljubljana– visiting Slovenia’s capital city
In Ljubljana they have erected a monument to Slovenia’s most important writer and named the main square after him. Before France Prešeren’s eyes, the young capital is struggling with the effects of the economic crisis. But the Slovenian people aren’t giving up hope and some even have an essentially relaxed view of their future. Alongside positive trends in tourism, the Slovenian economy is looking increasingly to alternative commercial sectors going forward.

Maribor is Slovenia’s second-largest city and was European Capital of Culture in 2012. More than three million guests visited a total of over 5230 events. So what next? Tracking down the legacy of being Capital of Culture, one quickly notices that culture is not merely some slogan to be displayed for one year. Culture is an attitude to life, above all here in Maribor.

Room for the senses – supporting impaired children
Pupils at Osnovna šola IV primary school in Slovenia’s Murska Sobota have mental and physical developmental disorders, some severe. With a view to providing the children with adequate opportunities to develop their movement and aid learning, the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation has helped to construct a “room for the senses”.
